PRODUCTION OF FELT BY THE BASHKIRS: TRADITIONS AND INNOVATIONS

This article describes modern production of felt by the Bashkirs in southern and southeastern parts Republic Bashkortostan from perspective preserving traditions innovations. In past, widely used it everyday life, was many traditional rituals: family, wedding religious ones. Yurts were covered with felt, laid large decorated pieces on bunks during holidays. Often complete a palas, traditionally present bride’s dowry. An elegant cheprak (serge, sergetysh), which lay under saddle, an rug thrown over horse wedding. course research, author came to conclusion that for at end XX – beginning XXI century had aesthetic ceremonial (locally preserves) function. The analysis processes developing field decorative applied art late early centuries showed there are following main forms existence culture people: 1) way felting sheep wool felt; 2) spread artistic using skills these home decor items paintings, murals, ribbons tug-of-bed, etc.; 3) creation designer collections: coats, sleeveless jackets, hats, mittens, 4) manufacture souvenirs dolls, jewelry items: bibs, beads, etc. Thus, along Bashkir innovations also developing.
